SAFRA TAMPINES

Overview

SAFRA was formed in 1972 with the objective of helping the Singapore Armed Forces build morale and camaraderie amongst NSmen to foster a cohesive fighting force. Since then, SAFRA has grown into a prominent organisation with a network of clubs to provide quality social, recreational, sports and educational facilities for NSmen and their families.  SAFRA Tampines is one of the current five clubs and pitches itself as a sports club with its comprehensive sports facilities and wide range of sports activities.

Strategy

Mission

To position itself as a Pro-Family Business, SAFRA Tampines has aligned its mission with providing social, recreation, sports and educational membership service offerings to the tri-generational family, especially National Service men and their families.

Product & Service Mix

To reach out to all members of the family, SAFRA Tampines plans and organises activities encompassing the various age-groups. For example, “The Swimming Club by SAFRA” was set up to encourage swimmers of all ages to explore new heights in swimming, from as young as 5 years old to as senior as 55 years old. Besides swimming lessons, young and old can take part in activities like Kayaking, Scuba Diving and Basic First Aid & Life Saving.

Marketing & Promotions

To encourage more female members of the family to join in the club’s activities, SAFRA Tampines organizes “Ladies Exclusive Day” which covers sporting events like the Futsul, Frisbee and Touch Rugby Competition, and recreational activities like a sports, shopping and clubbing night out at Gotham Penthouse Nightclub and Special Event venue.

Service

Service Attitude

To ensure a friendly atmosphere for families, SAFRA Tampines, staff are trained in quality service and given guidelines on how to service guests, especially young children and the elderly.  Guards on duty are alerted to be polite and helpful to all guests especially customers on wheelchair on mother with toddler or babies in strollers.

Nurturing service care

To nurture service care, SAFRA Tampines will house a new Crestar Learning Centre for children, in addition to its current Kumon Learning Centre and Zhong Hua Education Centre. These enrichment centres provide a one-stop recreational and learning club for kids of all ages. Parents can also slot in a work out or sport game when their kids are attending lessons.

Safety first

Staff are briefed on handling emergency and special staff are dedicated to providing emergency aid. SOPs are in place to facilitate these emergency procedures as well as for handling of cases like SARS, Avian Flu and Hand Foot and Mouth Disease for the tenants of the childcare businesses. There are security guards on 24 hour patrol and lifeguards at the pool area are certified to perform CPR.

To provide the tri-generational family with a fun-filled time at SAFRA Tampines, the club offers a wide range of facilities that include a gym, archery range, indoor badminton courts, MusicPoint karaoke lounge, a bowling alley and a restaurant serving up international cuisine. There is even a Kinderland Sports Child Care which incorporates “Kinderfit” and “Move with Music” programmes for young children.
