Overview

Qian Hu is an integrated "one-stop" ornamental fish service provider ranging from breeding of Dragon Fish, farming, importing, exporting and distributing of ornamental fish as well as manufacturing of aquarium and pet accessories and distributing them to local and overseas customers. Qian Hu aims to bring fun through their services and activities to all members of the family.

Strategy

Mission

With the family unit as the customer, the organisation develops a 4-prong strategy to support its PFB tagline “We Bring Fun To You”. They are: Provide a Family Sharing environment; Affordability; Provide an infrastructure convenient to all; and Promote a sense of a larger Community.

Product & Service Mix

The organisation has a fairly good mix of products & services to cater to all members of the family unit that include longkang fishing, kiddy rides and terrapin feeding for the kids, spa fish experience, wide range of ornamental fish and accessories for the adults.

A cafeteria including a Pizza Place was introduced to cater to families visiting the farm.

Marketing & Promotions

Special packages have been developed, targeted especially at the kids, e.g. during Children’s Day, festive period, school holidays.

Various channels are utilised to promote the products and services offerings such as promotion flyers, spray paint logo onto shuttle bus, CEO’s regular features, talks and visits to external organisations, public institutions, and charities.

Service

Service Attitude

Staff recruitment criteria emphasises largely on the love for fish and teamwork. These aptitudes translate to good services accorded to the visitors when staffs are satisfied with their job.

It is observed on site that staffs are friendly and easy-going to talk with. They smile and exhibit appropriate gesture that made visitors feel welcomed.

Nurturing service care

Staffs are empowered to delight family members. Such staff empowerment include issue of clothings to family members when they get wet at the Agro-Education Centre; giving away fishes for free to children when they fail to catch any fish at the ‘longkang’ fish pond; and giving small gifts to children when they are not feeling well, amongst others.

Safety first

Fire drills are carried out on regular basis to ensure the safety of the guests and employees.

The organisation has two staffs stationed at the Agro- Education Centre to keep watch on children fishing at the longkang pond while their parents enjoyed themselves at the Fish Spa area.

A couple of staffs are trained in first aid, providing immediate assistance and help should the situation arises.

Infrastructure

Access & Layout

The space layout of the galleries, shops and walkway are wide for easy movement for family visitors. The layout at the Arowana fish holding area has been re-established to ease the movement of visitors for comfort viewing.

The organisation endeavours to ensure safety flooring is in place. There are also enough slopes catered to the wheel-bound. Entrances to the various attraction areas are also barrier free.

Facilities

Café and WiFi facilities are put in place to cater to the needs of the families, making it a visit beyond just fish viewing.

The meeting room doubles up as a breastfeeding room whenever necessary. A wheel chair is made available at the ‘Aquarium & Pet Accessories’ area whilst kiddy rides are introduced at the Agro-Education Centre. This demonstrates the organisation’s good intent to cater to the need of breastfeeding mothers, the wheel-bound as well as the children.
